Yoga Nidra a is Yogic Sleep with awareness. This is a guided meditation that explores the various sheaths of the body, breath, emotions, intellect, and intuition and opens a connection to your higher self.
Yoga Nidra can be practiced in a seated position, although it is more commonly practiced in a fully-supported reclining position. It induces full-body relaxation and a deep meditative state of consciousness.
Yoga Nidra is a nurturing practice for anyone suffering from chronic pain, illness, grief or stress.
Our Yoga Nidra Classes and Workshops guide students to begin their own home practice. Participants take home Yoga Nidra tools that are especially useful for:
- overcoming periods of insomnia,
- preparing for and recovering from surgery and other medical procedures,
- coping with chronic pain,
- calming the mind during periods of anxiety, and
- easing the grip of deep grief.
The practice is accessible to anyone; no prior yoga experience is necessary.
Wear comfortable clothing and eat a light and early meal at least an hour before you come. This class is suitable for anyone including those with auto-immune disorders, chronic illness or injury. Contact us if you have special needs or concerns.
